The drag scene in Portland offers something for everybody. From high drag to counterculture, this fair city’s performance stage is thriving.

Founded in 1967, Darcelle's is the longest running drag show on the West Coast. Performances — featuring the occasional male stripper — happen every Wednesday through Saturday. A beloved figure in the community, Darcelle is even the subject of a documentary, Queen of Hearts.

The Imperial Sovereign Rose Court’s Coronation Ball

The Imperial Sovereign Rose Court is Oregon’s oldest LGBT organization, dedicated to having fun while raising money for charities within the LGBT community. The annual Coronation Ball is a drag extravaganza.

Drag Race at Red Cap Garage
1035 S.W. Stark St.

A spin-off of the hit TV series RuPaul's Drag Race, this occasional event engages Portland talent in a multi-week competition.

Peep Show at Red Cap Garage
1035 S.W. Stark St.

Part burlesque, part gender-bender, part mainstream, this event, held the first Tuesday of the month, highlights the abilities of up-and-coming drag performers.

The Alternative Drag Scene

Local stars include Chichi and Conga, Drag Mansion, Tampon Troupe, CJ and the Dolls and Saturn. You’ll find them performing at Peep Show, throwing the monthly Blow Pony party and hosting drag variety nights at the Someday Lounge.
