Portland became the birthplace of car-sharing in the United States in 1998. Today, Zipcar members from around the country can access a fleet of hundreds of vehicles in the Portland metro area. There are more than 80 cars in the central city alone. Zipcar has a storefront location in downtown Portland, at Southwest 10th and Yamhill.
